Well last friday i drove up to a place called Kelso where there is a large camping ground with a pool kids jumping castle, golf course and what not. Me and a few friends turn up being, Myself, my girlfriend, my girlfriends sister and her boyfriend and our other friend. Since Myself and my friend Cam were the eldest being both 19 we went into the reception to pick up our pass card and pay for the 2 nights we were staying. The women behing the counter nearly refused us staying here because we were teenages and that this was a family campsite for parents and young kids. We then convinced her that my girlfriends mum was coming within a few hours (which she did) She then gave in and let us stay, but the last thing she said to us before we left reception to go set up our tents was "I know what you teenagers are like, you do anything out of line, even utter a swear word under your breathe we'll be calling the police and have you escorted out!"

No someone please tell me is this age discrimination!? Because when we left i went in to hand back the pass card and i asked her. "Do you threaten every teenager with the police within the first 5 minutes of them arriving, or did we just intimidate you because there was 5 of us?" she didnt reply to me so i jumped back in the car, dumped the clutch right outside the office and left...

I know that kind of thing is illegal in the States. The people at some of the state parks in TN are assholes. They don't like young people either, but they haven't threatened to call the park police ever. If they did, I would give them a lecture about public spaces and property then drive to a campsite.

Yeah but this is private property, they can do whatever they want. I was a teenager once... I'd be worried if 5 teens wanted to stay in my family oriented campground too lol! Teenagers are nuts, I should know, I was an expert nutcase :tiphat:

I know they were bieng fair when thay said they didnt like teenagers staying there but we had an adult there with us which was the only reason why were aloud to stay even though they hit the piss with us lol. but they threatened to call the police just because of our age! sure enough while we were there i saw and heard kids from the age of ten swearing and not following the "rules" they gave us infront of the people that ran the campsite and they didnt do a thing about it!

(note: never camp at Kelso Sands Holiday Park! unless your old and crippled, no offense)

These are the :tiphat: that threatened us!!!!!!! I know where you live!!!!!!!

I dunno *shrug* Who cares? Seriously... when I was a kid I heard that "I'll call the cops" line tons of times... I mean it's been said to youngsters for decades. You sound like you guys totally over-reacted...

And according to your story, there was no adult present when this happened. You said an adult would be along later.

Well really in aus 18+ is considered adult and i felt downgraded when she said they would call the cops because of our age, and when my mums girlfriend turned up they didnt say anything about calling the cops to her...
Yeah it may of been a bit silly doing a burnout when we left but the reaction i got from her when i asked if she had threatened anyone else like that made me think that we might of been one of the many few to have been threatened, especially since while we were there i saw atleast 7 other "teens" around our age being 18+ who had arrived by themselves without and "older adult" present.

Yes well i really dont like put in the spotlight as a bad person because of my age, we didnt do a single "violation" all weekend we didnt even swear while we were at our own campsite just incase they were close by, personally im never going back there, they were rude, as far as i can tell discriminitive, arrogant just plain bad hosts, yes i agree again i might not be the smartest tool in the shed for dropping the clutch in the car park but they made as feel like we were in prison (just you make your own food and theres a pool :) ) so yah....

Shpadoinkle, thats all i have to say now..... Shpadoinkle

You really did prove her right by doing something as silly as that.

But seriously?? They can do that in Australia?
Even if I know what teenagers are capable of, that being a teenager once.

It could have been okay if they were refused to be given a pass, but the threatening part was a bit too much.. That was so mean...

Bah, what the hell were you doing in a "Family Campsite" anyway. :o
Can't you camp by some random lake or beach in Australia? More fun that way. :)
Better then to rot away in boredom in some crappy "Rules are there to be followed Camp". :bs:
