Today I woke up and looked at the cloudless sky, I knew something was brewing.

At around 3 o'clock I saw a dark cloud, your typical florida thunderstorm.

This storm was weird though.

Here's a few strange things that happened:

There was no wind, literally the whole time, there was no wind, it poured for a while, but it fell straight down, no wind.

There was more lighning in this storm than I've ever seen before, seriosly, it was like somebody was outside with a strobe light.

Afterwards, the sky was yellow, leaning a bit towards green.

Looking out my window now I see long clouds moving down, a lot like funnel clouds, but they are just regular clouds.

Everything just looks so apocolyptic right now, it's actually kind of cool, but very strange... I've seen all kinds of colors for skys, but never yellow-green.

I really wish I could take a picture... dammit I don't know where he camera was...

It's just so strange... :D

Cool! Too bad we don't have stuff like that here over in the UK. Mate, you should have grabbed your webcam/phone/camera! :D

Sounds neat, would make great photos.

No news on the web anywhere on this?

No, I was so sad looking out the window, it would have made for some awesome photographs...

I don't think this is really big news. It was just an electrical storm, I could literally hear when lighting struck in my speakers. My theory on the strange sky is this:

I live very close to the beach, it is possible that although there was no wind here, there could be wind elsewhere. It is possible there was wind on the beach, and that it was blown up into the clouds(actually that's part of what makes rain clouds gray). Only speculation, I'll do some research on it tonight.

Actually that sounds right.

During hurricanes the lightning is gree, this is because of the same reason the sky is blue.

UPDATE: I just talked to my buddy in Georgia, he experienced the same storm. It's blowing through I guess, it's times like these I wish I watched the weather...

On the 11 o'clock news they'll have something about it.

I've found that in VERY severe thunderstorms, the lightning turns a yellow color... but regular lightning is blue... of course my reflexes are too slow to show you a picture

My camera's just to slow...

It takes the picture like 3 seconds after I press the button.

You could probably adjust the shutter time to take it sooner. But sounds cool.

Is this what you saw? Something like a wall-cloud? Usually green-yellow storms are caused by dust and other particles swirling around in the air, and it often can bring hail and tornados (SP?). This is just what I heard, I don't know if it's a fact or not. I experienced a lot of green/yellow storms up in Missouri, and they were followed by hail and, of course, small-sclae tornaders.

What part of Florida do you live in? I live on the gulf coast.

I'm on the atlantic coast.

It looked a bit like that. There were funnel clouds, but no otuchdowns that I know of.

Weve been getting a lot of storms like this lately, this is the third in two weeks that's been tornadic, but the first two weren't yellow-green.

Im 18, and when i was 6 i visited my dads friends house in Minnesota, there was a thunderstorm and loads of tornado warnings... i was scared at the time, but wen i think of it now, it sounds really cool!!

I see em enough. I love stormy weather, so dark and gloomy, just such a refreshing change in themes.
