Ok so this is a painting I entered in a contest last year... it's 20x20 in RL..

'Bent'

You don't have to like it, hate it if you must <_<

... It was something I was trying to convey

...

I just want to see what you think I was trying to depict here... have a guessing game or give your honest good and bad critique even though it is lacking the detail a bit on the picture here. When I have time I will scan the real thing in and piece it together

What was I painting here? What is it about?

The title of the painting is "Bent"

i think it comes accross as showing that the guy has a dark side and a good side (the dark on one side, and the lightness on the other)

its a nice painting though, better than i could do <_<

Makes me think of when life has been beating on you and it gets to the point where you become numb and tired of trying to keep your chin up. Looks like the person is right at that point, where life has 'bent' your spirits.

But dont let my bad interpretation make you think it's a bad picture, I'm just dumb and not very perceptive [: It's great artwork!

I guess I just sorta wanna hear what someone else would think the meaning is..

I'll explain the meaning later on

after I see people's thoughts.

I also have a thick skin so criticism is welcome. =]

It's nice to have something to ponder

.. i do it a lot when looking at people's art... try and think what they were thinking when they made it

... but of course you have to have the time ;>

I am not good at interpreting things, but as soon as I saw it, I thought 'retard'. No, I don't mean this in a stupid way, it's just he looks messed up, and the title of the picture is 'bent'. This picture has deep meaning to me, though I am not sure why. It just has an awesome effect on me. =\

I really love this picture, and would like to see some more of your work if possible.

I agree, the title of the painting does resemble the picture.

I would see this as a 'religious' 'meditating' kind of picture, your eyes are drawn to the curves on his forehead which, to me, reminds me of a picture of EARTH that i stare at in my english class for a few hours a week.

The simplicity of the painting as far as no hair, flat gray colors, etc.. all suggest "upset" to me.. or some kind of pain.. but at the same time there's such a peacful expression that it's more like the pain of loss, rather than something like depression.

Just my 2 cents.

It's a nice painting though, I like it.
