Hello, i use 3Dsmax, Everytime i use a texture on a plain or a box, the texture is stretched. How does that come? And what can i do about it?

this will have something to do with mapping...

the best thing you can do is use a texture at as high a resolution as you can, check out http://www.mayang.com they have loads of free textures most of which are 1000+ X 1000+ in size.

if you want to keep using the texture you have now though, click on the plane or box you want to apply the texture to, and in the modifier list drop down menu apply a 'UVW Modifier' to the object.

then in the parameters rollout where you see 'U Tile' 'V Tile' and 'W Tile' increase the number to 2 or 3 or 4 or however high you need to go before it stops stretching.

note that although this will stop the stretching of the texture it will tile the texture and this might or might not give you some undesireable results as it will look fake...that might not apply to you here though.

look here for more info and tutorials:

hope that was of help...

For best do Huge texture. But to do that in Photoshop you need more ram. The Big Texture=HI Res Texture. That means you can zoom in and still have smooth pixels.
That is why the Xbox360 and Ps3 is such a shocker because how big the textures and poly can get.
