Use the elliptical marquee tool and hold shift to make perfect circles...

Hi,
I did try that but i started on the outside of the cd and started to make the circle but this sort of moved in side and could not judge the right size.
Is there anyway to resize the circle once you let go?
thanks

Make guidelines that touch the top and bottom of the CD, then put your crosshairs (when in the elliptical marquee tool) on the top line, click (hold), hit shift, and drag to the bottom line

You can also resize the selection by going to Select -> Transform Selection
But yea Jaymz's method is the best way to go abt it.
