question about images on Ebay

I'm using photoshop for editing my pictures.
the only thing is: when I use them on Ebay, they seem more compressed then before. can somebody explain that?

-> please check for example this Ebay-listing

when you look BEHIND the POTATO, you may see that the brightness and contrast levels are tweaked in a strange way...

if any person might have an idea: please let me know!!!

Probabally because... they are more compressed? The last thing ebay wants is to have thousands upon thousands of images everyday with huge huge file sizes? Obviously, they are going to want to compress them for several reasons B)
