Hey there just wanted to know if anyone knows how to keep all the posts on an IPB forum because they delete after awhile like when the topic isnt active

You need to go and ask that at http://forums.invisionpower.com/ I have never heard of this happening before.

i think you need to go to your admin panel and check under the general config and see if there's something about a topic prune setting...if they still have that...
