Here's another new render done is Swift3D - practising with reflective materials and such. This is just a series of pipe models thrown together (models in max, put together and textured in swift). Click for full view - 1600 x 1200.

that really nice. good job. but where do you get your materials. and are all materials for different 3d programs the same?

The materials are created within the program... in this case, they are made in Swift3d. As far as I know, the materials are custom per program.

They should have a standard material/texture format for all 3d programs ;)

That would be a bad idea and/or impossible to do. Each program has thier own ways of doing things and gives you unique ability to create in different ways. To pin them all to one standardized method would cripple each program and hold them back from using the latest methods and technologies for texture making. The designers behind each of the major 3d applications all have different ideas and ways for approaching how to define materials and texturing and it's in those differences that each individual user is able to put thier creative ideas into the projects they create. Diversity=Very good thing.
