I had a similar problem with my battlefield 2 (DEMO) It paused for a few seconds on a black screen, but actaully turned out fine... I checked on several other computers in my house too to make sure, and they all did the same...

The full/bought version works no problems though, still the pause but... it comes on

Great game too ;)

Buy a new computer lol, you have so many problems! Does battlefield 2 require an internet connection to play? And if you have Norton Internet Security turn it off before you go to play it, i had to do that when i first installed UT2K4 then i opened the ports for it after though.

Maybe you didn't install it correctly...? Maybe your computers messed up? You have like 10000 problems a day lol J.K

@ronson, bf2 doesnt need a connection.

@d7x, this happened to me when I first got rise of nations, my computer far surpassed the requirements, but, it would fail to run every time. So, after 2+ plus hours of agravating phone calls with tech people, they assessed it was a program running in the background, i.e spyware. But, my attempts to eliminate it were to no avail, so in the end I just wiped my harddrive and started fresh, (There was no way my 30 bucks were going to waste), and to my surprise it worked like a dream. So I hope this helps?

have you reinstalled your graphic card drivers?

Also, be sure to install the 2 BF2 patches, most graphic card bugs have been fixed.

I had this with another game and I installed on the other drive and it worked. I have got BF2 and was expected something special from the game and it slightly dissappointed so your not missing out on to much. Best PC game is still warcraft :P

Yea. The demo is disappointed me too. Even though the trailers looked awesome. As for your program that also happened to me with Americas Army. Never resolved the problem though. I mean I was exceeding required and all. Try tech support.
