I think you do have the right idea, it just seems a bit empty. Try filling the middle with something...

Yup, definatly got the right idea. But Firstly, that text is very hard to read, and you need to try to do some interesting brushing around the middle bit, and maybe even blend the renders slightly.
Good for a first go though.
