Ok, I've decided im limited only with a knowledge of HTML so ive decided to learn PHP, iv checked a few tuts and sounds like i need to have a server, is it possible to learn without a server? And do i need to install php.

You have to have a server - either locally or on the web. ;)

If you have a website and your host has support for php then all you need to do is write the php script - save it as .php file and upload to your web space and run it from there. In that case you don't have to install PHP on your machine.

If you want to test the script on your machine, then you have to php on ur local machine and for that to run you would need a server like apache.
