I've used the Tutorial on P2L to create an MP3 Player that will eventually be placed as part of www.teevo.co.uk (Ok... so maybe I just took the example .fla file and altered it a little).

Anyway, I have a track length attribute in the xml file and want it to display in a dynamic text box. If this were ALL I were doing, I could probably manage it, but with all the other stuff on there I don't know how to edit it correctly (Trust me... I tried... it wasn't pretty).

If anyone could let me know what to change to get the attribute into the box on the right, it'd be greatly appreciated.

All files are availble here.

ok, so it seems like you used my mp3player tutorial.. I've included also how to get the track time on part 2 of the tutorial.
you don't need to put it in the xml.. that's just waste of time..

I wouldn't know. I didn't manage to make it through Part 1. Let alone Part 2.

Unless you're already an expert in actionscript it's impossible to follow.

The major thing being that after following all the directions up to page 3 you're told: "Here the complete code we've created"

And it isn't the code we've created at all. It contains some of the same elements, but it has entirely new functions in it previously unmentioned. I tried looking at the example .fla, but again; the coding has changed. Then if you try and look at the start of Part II, the code's changed yet again. I'm sorry, obviously a lot of effort was put into writing both, but they just have too many inconsistancies to follow as a tutorial. A general guide for those who already have a wide knowledge of actionscript perhaps, but not a tutorial. ;)
