i guess i vote for game char because even if i voted for another game char would win...

but if we DO do game char, we just get to choose our own game char or u guys will pick one out for us... i have a feeling that if we choose our game char, people might judge our vector based on whether they like the char or not, instead of judging based on our skills.

do you mean this has to be a TRUE vector as in done in Illustrator or can it be a fake vector done in a raster program.

I wouldn't limit it to illustrator, other raster programs have vector capabilities, and many people don't have illustrator. It'll be easy to tell who actually did it with a vector intreface and who didn't.

I know, that's what I do. But it's primarily a raster program.

the vectoring in PS isnt that great. It doesnt have very many tools for purley vectoring something. with the paths tool its completely possible but with illustrator u get pure vector and when you zooming in AI it doesnt pixelate. what im saying is that PS's vector capabilitiess are very limited when compared with illustrator

Which kinda adds to the challenge, I don't have the money for illustrator right now, so I'm kinda stuck with it.

lets just say not EVERYONE knows how to use illustrator.

and lets also say there are MANY that can create better vector then those who know how to use illustrator.

yes the image does pixelate when its zoomed in, so lets say zoomed in by 400%. it may be pixelated, but if you RESIZE the image 400% bigger, it wont be pixelated.

somehow i feel like you were saying photoshop vectors aren't real vectors, and what i said above just proved you wrong.

they are real as far as resizing but PS is a raster program that can do vectors and Illustraor is a vector program that can open rasters. you cant open an EPS in PS without it being converted to raster either...:P

but in the end, the vector quality is pretty much the same....most of my vectors were done on PS even though i'm quite fluent with illustrator, mainly because its easy layer wise in PS.....as long as the pen tool is used, its still a vector, doesn't matter what program you use....you can use Indesign and still create a vector. so you can't just make it exclusive to one program. that wouldn't be fair he people who want to vector but only have PS.

Looks like y'all gonna be vectoring a game character. Setting up the compo now as soon as I whip up a small banner. <3
