Anyways, British all the way. Quite a good list by the way Apache, although I would add Kasabian and Gorillaz to that - my two most listened to albums.

Though contemplation of my death would come soon after realizing I couldn't head Led Zeppelin or Radiohead again.

It surprises me even to this day how little people realize about music. A great example is Metallica. Look at the tabs on Metallica's music sheets... it's actually classical music with an increased tempo and distortion. That's why the S&M album is so perfect. I have yet to meet a Metallica fan that knew that.
Anyhow, as a general rule, people are way too closed minded to answer this because they don't know any better. Not trying to be offensive, it's just the way it is.

GEnerally you can say that you prefer one countries music to the next simply because even if you say "Rock", two countries may have a different style of rock. Of course theres always the exception tothe rule, but I can say that I seriously prefer british indie and alternative to american.

British music on the other hand seems to have a certain amount of sophistication and creative freedom at the moment. Just check out Bloc Party
Absolutely fantastic stuff...
