[noob] I never really understood what the tween tool was. I have no idea in my mind what it does, and I couldnt find any kind of tut that told me. Can anyone explain, please no flames. [/noob]

tween is another word for animation. so basically, anything animated is tweened... am i right? i think i am..

to tween is to have a program automatically fill in the frames beTWEEN keyframes based on user constraints.

Well tween is a very simple concept, and is it very useful and easy. Basically you create to frames, one with the starting location, shape, or effect, and the second frame with the ending location, shape, or effect. Then you just hit tie "tween" button and add the desired number of frames. I used tween to make the heartrate monitor in my sig move smoothly.
