If i had complete ruling over the Twodded section of Pixel2Life, i would make each tutorial cover 1 page only. Nothing pisses me off more than a tutorial on 8 pages

We will be breaking them down into less pages, and making the tutorial presentation a little cleaner - I'd have to agree with this one, sometimes they are broken up too much.. but sometimes the reader is lazy

either way, we'll work on it :D

keep em coming guys  we are making great progress here

 Sorry but I can't agree with this quote fully..

A tutorial should be like a book.. you learn how you do it, why you do it, and you get an explanation, this can't fit into just 1 page.. (well it can but then you will scroll to death.)

If you are in search for "copy & paste" then I think you are in the wrong place.

Wow, I also like the guest writers idea... I'd love to see some stuff from billy bussey. I also think that the comment about having the tutorial all on one page was a little unneccesary because of the fact that there are STILL a lot of people using dialup and this helps them out (breaking it into pages). I think twodded should stay as a section of p2l because it's easier to access this way. Also, I would probably add a Cinema 4D section for all those C4D users out there (me included), it'd be nice to have one place to go for quality tutorials, and I'm sure you could find a tutorial writer for it. Also, maybe a section about like linux webserver setup? I remember when I was trying to set one up the first time, none of the internet guides worked as if they should. If this category was set up I would be willing to write a series of webserver setup tutorials for Fedora Core.

possibly, as i said, if people want to write tutorials, they need to post up a topic in twodded trials forum with some information and their tutorial, then we'll talk, till then, the categories will represent the skillset of the staff we have :P

also, guest writers would be fun, although its pretty hard to attract them, we'll see

as long as you decide to take critism and use it to improve yourself, your probably our material..

as long as you can also dedicate time to writing a quality tutorial instead of rushing 2 minute jobs, your twodded material B)

I like the idea of having the tutorials idea que displayed on a page. I myself have requested 2 tutorials, with no reply. I do wonder what happened to them and even if twodded does not have the time, I believe there are many other capable authors out there to write one for their own site.

Also, the user submitted tutorials. I think the main thing to keep in mind is that some writers have no where to host their tutorials. Unless you want a 5000kb image on deviant art, you have to write it in HTML. But there aren't many ways to host your pages other than getting hired. As I know text doesnot take too much space, perhaps twodded could store the better one submitted. (yes, images will be a problem, any ideas?)

If you want, you could set a cookie for preferences on how many steps displayed perpage you want in a twodded tutorial. I do see many page of a tutorial with only 20 lines or so, and clicking the next button wastes a valuable 5 to 15 seconds ( B) ) Nevertheless it is stilla delay, so if you store the tutorials as steps, you could just make the query display X amount of steps per page B) Too muxh work? I agree!

yeah...

great idea syphon, i'll be sure to consider it for the next version depending on how much time i have...

and we are working on the paging thing.. but display x amount of steps (a la zymic) in my opinion isn't really a great idea, un-neccesary waste of processor/memory to be honest
