Ok the only real way i can explain what i would like is by showing you my current work in progress. Whish is as follows...

Ok, so i would like to learn how to put a gravity effect upon the objects so that the silver ring is leaning on the gold ring.. hard to understand i kno... but i hope somebody knows what i'm babbling about! Hehe

Eh, Ive only played with real time physics in Maya, so I cant help you a whole lot in c4d. I do know you have to set up the objects as hard bodied objects, and I also believe there was a toggle (at least in ver xl7) to have them be affected by environment variables. Then just set your gravity. All that being said, there's really no reason to go through that much trouble if you are just working with these two rings. Just rotate the top ring and position it to a natural laying angle and you wouldnt be able to tell the difference.

why dont you just rotate the object till you have it where you want it ?

Yeah just use the point where the rings touch then rotate it on that point or points until the other side of the ring touches the wood.

personally i would use the way that stu sugested, but if you care to visit my forum www.uv-eyedesign.net/phpbb2/ and hit up t3rmin4tor with a pm i am sure that he will explain expresso to you, which is the advanced stuff in C4D, which includes gravity.
