Hey everyone - I'm doing a site for my band, and I want to have a player streaming my tunes.

I went through funkysoul's streaming flash mp3 player (part II) tutorial, and it works perfect when it is on it's own, but not if I load it into another swf.

What I have is a .swf that loads the player using the "loader" component.

When the player is loaded, the audio tracks play fine, the "next" and "previous" buttons work, but the "play", "stop" buttons and the volume slider does not work.

The display text also does not show the information from the XML file, but the "trace" does show the info.

any help would be appriciated - it's driving me nuts trying to figure it out.
What am I missing ?

you need to give every instance a direct target using _root._parent on the actionscript, otherwise the script will search on the wrong swf

Never tried it out, but maybe with _levelx. (x being the level where the swf is loaded.

Thanks Funkysoul for a great tut...but im having the same problem as babbajingo..I have the player as an external swiff loaded into a movie clip.

Im a complete newbie, therefore could you explain how and where i change the _root levels etc
