Got that annoying spyware on your computer? dont know how to get it off? or how you got it? well heres my suggestions.

Okay First you wanna Run a spyware cleaner such as SpyBot Search and Destroy, then You wanna run Adaware 6.0 or w.e the newest one is. Then Run Webroots other program called Windows Washer. Once you did all that Run your AV. and run spyware cleaner again. and after all thats done and cleaned get a browser and dont use IE unless you absolutely need to, to get somewhere such as zone.

*Note, you may not be able to clean somethings which means you have to restart comp go thru safe mode (f8) and go to admin user, and delete the file the spyware sweeper found n the name of it n location n shit*

All the programs mentioned cept an AV can be found at www.download.com

The first two are great programs, and I've not ever needed to use anything other than those two to clean a system. If they can't clean something then you just have to jump into the registry and start cleaning out BHO's by hand. And there's no good reason to not use IE, it's faster than firefox or mozilla or any other netscape based browser. just get an addon for IE like Avant browser so you have tabbed browsing, easy script/pic/popup blocking, and very customizeable interface. Also you never have to worry about compatibility issues with webpages you visit.

Hey, since you use FireFox, I was wondering if you use the SafariFox theme. I'm having some trouble installing it.

Back on topic:

Yeah, sometimes I get this annoying scam pop-up. I guess I should use more than one program. I'll use the one you mentioned above. Thanks.

I run fire fox, and weekly I run a spyware finder off a boot disk, it always comes up clean. And in a test done at the ohio state university, having ad removal programs on your pc allows more adware and spyware on your pc.

That makes no sense...it's not even feasible. True there are programs that claim to be spyware cleaners but actually just install spyware, but a true adware cleaner does not allow more spyware on your pc..

Mostly adware and spyware are from spam e-mail, porn sites, and companies that reasearch popular web sites that people visit. But I noticed that now that I do not use adaware or anything like that, I do not get spyware anymore. Like at all, though I do run programs every now and then to check.

I run IE and have adaware on my system and I get one or two every couple of weeks.

I still dont see why you say you dont have a spyware checker installed yet you run a program to check for it? It's either one or the other...
Or are you saying you dont run a real time scanner? Although I dont agree that it would cause more spyware to be installed, I do agree running a realtime scan for spyware is a total waste of system resources. A simple scan every couple of weeks is plenty. I'm like faken, rarely get much of anything but do scan to be safe.
