Pretty simple concept... if you didn't buy it, create it yourself, or get permission from the person who made it, you're ripping it.
There are different degrees though... an outright rip is frowned upon or even illegal, whereas a similarity invoked by simple admiration of a particular style happens on a daily basis.

Not at all... my layout is pretty standard, which is why many people think that P2L is a PHPNuke site at first.what if u make everything from scrach BUT the order of the blocks/content boxes is the same as some other site??
like fore example if someone made a site with the same order of content boxes like p2l but a diferent layout diferent colors and everythign would that be called ripping??

This is not correct actually... the author of said goods does NOT have to have the copyright information posted. Any intellectual property company owned is automatically copyright whether it's posted or not.Yea hes right only time you really cannot rip is when there is a Copright over it and the person who made it says no if you ask them if it has a copyright, but the user who made says yes then you could but keep the copy right on there..

hackers can bring down entire countries, but at least they've some kinda knowledge when they go it
rippers just simply take things, they don't make something or do something thats their own

It says that you dont have to have the copyright there, by posting it to the web its automatically copyrighted, this includes graphics, images, poems, writings, lyrics, ect.. anything.
and even if u do manage to get boxes same as P2L you wont ever be able to get it exactly alike. too much time n shit. and it wotn look as good + u will be known for a double template or u will jus be wasting ur time cause people may think u ripped (if its good enough)
