I made a splash page for my site... And it displays fine in the DW preview... But not after I've uploaded it. I have it as a bg image, but it doesn't work as a normal image either. ? Heres my code: (site is here: http://cdesign.95mb.com/ )
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"
"http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd">
<html>
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1">
<title>C.Designs v5.0 :: Under Construction!</title>
</head>

<body style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;">
<table width="100%"  border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0">
  <tr>
    <td height="475" background="images/splash.jpg"></td>
  </tr>
</table>
</body>
</html>

When you right click 'View Image' it says it can't display it because of errors... What error? It's not linked to my hard drive and the image is in my directory.

Thanks :tiphat:

I just tried a different image, and it worked. Is it possible my image is too big? It's 151133 B.... Doesn't seem too big.

EDIT: I fixed it. I saved it as a gif and renamed it frontimg. It wouldn't take 'splash' for some reason.

just a comment, by having it as a table background the image is tiling, so why dont you just use the img tag instead?

It doesn't tile... I think. It fills up my screen perfect :\

Are you on 1024 resolution? I think it might tile then... But I'm not sure.

i bet its cause you saved it as a cmyk jpeg which browsers dont support.

you should copy paste the jpg you had into a new image file but make sure you use 'rgb' as the color choice and see if it works.

but you got already got it working with a gif so thats cool

I save all my images as a .jpg... same thing every time and this was different for some reason.
