I used the photoshop tutorial in twodded, got the basic idea, and then did it in Macromedia Fireworks 8

Like the planet texture but the shadowy bit needs some work IMO

True, most planets you can still see the outline, just greatly darkened at one point...but not completely invisible :lol: Also, at the bottom, I may be mistaken, but either the planet went see through, or its an asteroid belt, and the black is the shade.

The planet looks a lil' flat - Fix that up and it will look good :lol:

Yes, well you see, photoshop has a thing that makes your texture spherical, and Fireworks.. does not.

I'm trying to reproduce that effect, but it's difficult :/

I think theres a tut in Twodded that shows you how to make a planet.

That's the one I used.

But, it's for photoshop, and I have Fireworks, hence, problems.

Maybe some light brushing... like you would on a sketched sphere on paper... tonal drawing ina circular motion working your way to the center... does anyone know what i mean?
