Well, you know that grey colour you get when you sorta open out a document to see the edges of your actauly image well... i clicked in that area with a black paint bucket tool and it coloured it acciedentaly. And everytime i go to drag the bar to see the rest of the edges of the image, it still has the black colouring.
I've to restarted PS but no hope :/

Right click your desktop > appearence > software backgorund and change it to grey... I hope it works...
Otherwise i think thats a software fault.

Well I have done this before. There is a button, usually on the Tool Pallette, that when clicked will change the BG to black, then to full-screen, then back to grey. Simply clicking this may solve your problem if Bryn's suggestion doesn't work.

right-click desktop - preferences - appearance(tab)...

lol, just choose the colour what you want... get the paint bucket tool... hold SHIFT and click the outer canvas B)

Easy. I have mine set to a light blue :(
