Ive looked at the tutorials section but am over-whelmed by the amount on offer - I am a complete novice but have an urgent requirement to get upto speed with the above programs especially 3ds and Rhino

I've just had a system built and have all of the above programmes so I'm ready to run - but I dont know where to start

basically I need pointing in the direction of the most simple tutorials so that I can get on and learn how to use them and progress asap :)

thanking you in advance

Rich

Hi Rich,

Most tutorials on this site are rated in terms of difficulty (on little red box is for beginners like us, 2 is for people who are familiar and three plus are for regular users - this is just my translation of the system anyway). I would suggest some basic layout, modelling, texturing and then lighting tutorials first. But as with any package it helps to read the manual if you have it and just keep using it. Start off by creating simple shapes and then lighting and then go onto adding materials etc. That's how I got started and have not looked back. Hope this helps.

Ive got myself onto a company sponsered CAD course now -Starting with Rhino - 4hrs a week for 6 weeks, then moving onto advanced rhino - hopefully learning this in depth should help with the other programmes

how easy is the transistion from one program to another?

its not easy, but its not hard, the hard work is knowing what things do what. its just about getting used to the difference in interfaces.
