1. use sitemap software to create google sitemap and submit it
---(example: Builder .Net V1.5)
2. check for broken links, good internal linking structure.

3. good and unique content rich pages,
4. use to update google sitemap when ever new pages added into website,
5. Submit into paid and free directories in specific catagory.
---(example:http://www.dmoz.org)
6. Put new Thread in all kinds of Forum Directory
---(example:http://www.b2b114.cn)
7. Do link exchange with related theme based websites.
---(example:http://www.webmaster-talk.com)

I think these are the basic thing to be get started with.
