As the Title I can't hit lens flare. Its just grey and nothing happens when i hit it... help me please

Normally people say hi first and then ask a question 
See if your image is not in 16bit mode, if so change it to 8bit.
Image > Mode.

and make sure you dont have an empty layer on the layer you want to add the flare to

also, for the future, make sure you are in RGB, half the filters won't work in CMYK or others.
