I've got a website, check my sig if you want to see. And actually I get the most refferrals for P2L.
But I want to know, are frames good? the problem is that if I use frames on my site and have the frame change. I can't link to pages, i.e Can't go to a part of my site because only the frame bit would load. And I can't collect site statistics properly like page views. And Referral tracking would be worse.
But when I change a part of a menu, I have to change the menu on all pages for continuety. Should I use a server-side script like ASP or PHP?

Change off Geocities to some cheap host with PHP enabled, and use
i THINK....don't blame me if it doesn't work
Either way, frames suck completely...
<?php include('err.html'); ?>

Geocities = The worst possible host you could think to have if you want anything besides a "homepage."
If you want a true website, you need an actual host, and yes, there are other free hosts out there that count. And there's plenty of links around here to find them.
Also darth theoretically had the write code, he just did a bad job of explaining what you do with it, because there is a lot more you need to know to use i properly.
More proper explainations can be found here: http://www.pixel2life.com/tutorials/PHP_Co..._and_Templates/
As for the use of frames. HTML can not track statistics in any way i know of. Your server should still track the hits properly no matter what you use, but i doubt Geocities offers those.
Also, If you use frames properly, you can have 1 nav pane, 1 header pane, and a content frame. You can get a link in one frame to change the page in another through the use of "target" and "name" attributes. And of course that set up would allow you to change only a couple of files to affect everything.
But i HIGHLY recommend loosing frames. Not many browsers like them, not many people like them, and PHP is far better (although a little more complicated).
