Here's a lightsabre I did (with the help from a tut for the model-thx DCB). Hope you like it. I made the lighting a lot brighter to begin with but then found the refelctions on the sabre didn't look so good. And I like the darker image as well.

I think I may need to reduce the brightness on them.

Thanks guys. I thing that DOF coupled with HDRI gives it a almost 'pick it up and slay sith' kind realism!

It almost looks like a photograph of a real light saber. Well done. I'm very impressed.

Best Regards,

dude, thats looks so realistic and really really awesome

great job

one question: is it at all possible to make the lightsaber with like the actual saber part on with that program? i dont know anything about this kind of stuff but i know that you model the objects and everything....is it at all possible to make the saber part (the actual light cutting part) of the lightsaber? i would LOVE to see that!

Thanks to all of you for your feedback. As I'm never one to shy away from a challenge I though I'd give it a go with the sabre blade turned on............hope you like.

I had to do dof in photoshop on this render because in Cinema 4D DOF overrides all other effects such as glow.

Very nice, just the light doesn't seem like a real lightsabre, good job. Try getting a Star Wars picture and model it after.

I'll have to make the sabre noises myself! :D
