editing my layout

ok i have my layout that i made now how can i insert an extra box into it
it doesnt work with dreamweaver so i was thinking somehow to make the backgroud layer bigger so i got more space on the layout
is it possible to make the background bigger???

ok i got my layout done now i want to add another box but there is no space what do i do? how do add it in photoshop

I think you mean you want to change the canvas size on the Photoshop document.

Click Image>Canvas Size and you will get this window:

Enter in the new size you want for the whole document. The "Anchor" option at the bottom allows you to select where you want to position your original work within the new size canvas - as in this example:

(Original canvas, and then extra canvas added to the top of the image).

I really have no clue what you mean... if you want to add a box, move stuff around and create the box? ?? Like I said, screenshots or something would be helpful.
