I think it would have been better if you had just masked off the cracks around the eye so only the actual eye is cracked, then overlayed a smooth stone texture to the rest of the area where skin is.

Just an image + ctrl, shirt and U + add texture set to linear burn.
Try masking or increasing the strength of the cracks i places... remove off eyes and increase density on lips etc...
