This is another layout i have come up with tonight,

based of previous advise i made the site wider, and althought the header is rather large i ahve seen this on a lot of sites at the moment and like the affect it gives.

Just wondering what everyone else thinks?

thanks

i prefer the first layout to this one....just maybe use the other layout and expand a certain part of it to get to something around 800 px.

i get what ur trying to do with ur designs but one thing uve gotta realise is the more layouts do u the better understanding u get as ive previously found out, and one other thing is dont do layouts after layouts u gotta give it time otherwise they'll all look the same..i mean rome wasnt built in a day was it, lol, i like ur style, keep it up dude!

are we saying they now look alike?

i actullay prefer the second one, but that because as a learner i have got my borders right and know where i was going wrong, i may redo the first one tomorrow and see how that looks.

i prefer second header to the first, what you reckon?

which would be esier to code with css?

Thanks

I think the header is too big...and well, you should blend more the RD letters. But it's an original layout so it gives you extra points ;)

I like the first one better, maybe it's just cause you have this header so huge. It all depends what this site is for and what type of viewers you are attracting. If you are attracting non tech guys then you're header is Way to large .... most people still run on a 800x600 res. It's gamers and the more techy guys/girls that are using above 800x600. But still you always want to keep your layout some what neutral no matter what audience you are trying to attract. You wanna make friends with your site ... not enemies :tiphat:

In other words test, test, test ... always test your layouts in different resolutions, browsers, as well as keep an eye on accessability. In this layout it's much easier to read the text then the last one. Keep in mind as well that there are "alot" of color blind people so if you don't have text that is contrasting enough .. then they won't be able to read well, or at all.

Ciao

I agree with others, the header is too big and it the layout seems plain. Its just too simple.
Add another color to it.

Hello this is my third attempt at my layout where i have now changed the header to a smaller size and have added a few other page layout to see how they look.

Can you check them and comment, please.

I have decided to stay with gray look even though some have said it looks dull but i like the look of it and think its plays a part in the design.

I have a few questions i wondered if you could advise me on them.

- How easy would this site be t code entirely in css, still learning css but this is the how i want the site done.

- do i need to slice any part of the layout?

- if i do manage to get the site all in css, how easy is it to update pages with, say for example the gallery to change images?

- In the gallery, would i create each image box as a seperate file then use css to position that block?

- I wanna create a form page where viewers can i email regarding different paintings, what i would like to do is to create drop down boxes which list all the paintings and when one is selected the next drop down box would show th esizes avaialbe for that paintings, cant his be done?

Any help would be great, as i wanna try and code it this week.

Thanks

I like it. The gray is a nice effect on that layout. As far as coding it in css, I couldn't say if that would be an easy one or not. It looks like it would be easy, but I could be wrong. My knowledge of css is limited. Keep up the great work. Can't wait to see it totally completed. ;)

Best Regards,

Jason ^_^
