Me personally? When I can afford it I am going to Mac so really I am not bothered by windows anymore. Err, If I needed to get windows I would do what you are doing and that is waiting for at LEAST service pack 2.

As for IE7. I will not be changing to that anytime soon. :D Love FireFox too much. Probably because I prefer browsers to explorers.

Microsoft are aiming to make Windows easier but I somehow think Vista will confuse someone :P.

I wont be getting Windows Vista for probably 2 years after it comes out, or maybe even longer, besides it comes out December 14, 2006 doesnt it, still kind of a ways a way, so why are we worrying about it now?

No, you're not fussy are you :P

Nah, depends on where you live though doesn't it? If you live in somewhere like UK then it may be a week later that it is released.

some people are just so lucky/rich, or work for the right places, my cousin got windows XP 6 months before it came out because his dad worked for HP so they got to test it, and it wasnt a beta version because they still use that version and they get all the service packs and stuff..For me, I got windows xp like a year after, and probably will be the same for vista.

I'm most likely going to get it even though I bash windows all the time but hey I've been using microsoft products since I could walk (literally). I'm gonna get it when ever I save up enough money for it.

i'll be getting it from a friend who tests it as a software tester in december, but i'll be buying it too, so don't get any ideas..

I think too many people believe the over-mac'd computer reviewers of the world. Have you ever noticed every 'windows reviewer' is posting it up on a mac?

As for switching to Linux... lol!

Ehh, I'll get it when I can afford an Intel Itanium computer
I really love Linux, but neither Photoshop or Dreamweaver are made for it. (yes, yes, I know, WINE. but it's so SLOW)

Well Windows isnt that great, it sucks with memory stuff, even my data structures teacher said running our C++ programs on a mac is more efficient then on a windows machine. She said when you test your program the macs like make one area for the memory usage and once you close it, it deletes all memory there, but windows just leaves any memory that you never deleted manually. Its true for regular programs like photoshop also, windows just sucks at cleaning up memory, Linux/Unix is even better then windows....

macs are purely more efficient with the c++ programs because they are 64 bit, any other reason and your kidding yourself

I like how people are prepared to use an inferior product because they hear its worse..

Nothing substantially wrong with Linux ( <- please read that again), it's just the lack of descent applications for it.
Can't run Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Cinema 4D, etc... should I really continue.
Whine? Emulation? You gotta be kiddin' ...

Heh, yeh... lack of programs for Linux is bad... but it is at least reliable.

There are alternatives. OpenOffice, the GIMP, Some Dreamweaver alternative that can nevr remember.
