Now I'm being hosted by Media Temple. They're more expensive, but if you want quality.. you usually have to pay more.

I find your post hard to believe as I have used Go Daddy for 10plus yrs and have never not once had any of that happen.GoDaddy is a good one because they're cheap.. BUT they're also scam artists. I've already been screwed over about 10 times by them in the past 6 months. They hide a lot of information that a new person to websites wouldn't understand at first. Such as bandwidth overage fees, renewals, cancling accounts that aren't in use, and they actually gave my number out to other hosting companies that wouldn't stop calling me. So if you choose them, be aware of their hidden fees and stuff. Oh, and they do except PayPal.

For example:
- I had one of the little $4 hosting accounts go over on it's bandwidth by a VERY small amount. I mean it was extremely small. They charged me $15 extra.
- They somewhat hide the renewals and make everything automatically renewable. When you're new to stuff like that, and the next month rolls around, and you get slammed with payments you didn't even know about.. that's not cool.
- I was planning on setting up a site for my uncle, so I went ahead and bought one of the $10 accounts without setting it up. Something interfered with the site, so it didn't get done for about 2 months. By the end of the first month, they were trying to bill another $10 for an account that wasn't even set up. The end of the second month, they shut down that account without my consent.
- About the hosting calls.. I have no idea who actually gave my phone number out. I'm figuring it was GoDaddy since at the time, they were they only people I had given my new cell phone number to.
Like I said before, if you're smarter about things.. GoDaddy could be perfect for you. I choose MediaTemple though because you can host all domains on one hosting account, and they have rollover bandwidth. I still use GoDaddy to host my domain names and sell names in the Domain Name After Market though.
