Ello, im making a portfolio now, this is what I got so far. I like it, but my friends say the green and black blocks are ugly. What do you think? Good colors or not?

I agree with your friends. I like that image though. Try sticking that image in the center on a white background.

image and hte light strips of opacity squares on the side look nice , colors are bleh....

maybe if you try to put a of border separating the two colors it would help
