Just make sure you boot from CD and erase all pre-existing partitions and create a new partition.

theres a free support number i believe, the xp key becomes invalid if you change parts inside of your computer, if you explain this to them they'll give you a new one..

Don't complain. The person you spoke to saved you a lot of money from buying a new key, that should be enough.

I had to call them about an invalid CD key too. The guy who I talked with was really helpful.

I'm glad you got it all fixed up. :)

I remember when I had to do this. I called their number and explained that I own 3 copies of windows xp and I reinstalled two of my computers and mixed the cd keys up so they marked all 3 to me just incase that ever happens again.

Regards,

Jason ;)

ahhh

i like formating my computer but at the same time hate it :P

so far i have not had to format my computer because its still somewhat new.

I hate it because you have to got back a reload everything and download / register all of you programs again
(which is why i should look into investing in an external harddrive like my friend just did)

But i love it becuase it work so fast and you feel so organized
