Ok guys... as I warned previously, the forum upgrade is coming in a matter of hours and the forums will be down for at least 2 hours, if not more. Make sure you note any important messages in your private messages because they MAY be erased once the update is done. The upgrade may also cause problems on the rest of the site, so wish us luck.

This is going to be a bumpy ride guys, so grab hold of something Apparently the fact that we're upgrading from such an old version is going to make things complicated

No I did not. I lost nothing infact. I had mods installed and so forth. Those are lost, but data from mods are still there. Not being queried from the database since there is nothing to query them.

Just a note: BACK UP ALL YOUR FILES and make a SQL BACKUP of your forum database just incase.

It might take a while since P2L is so big, but if you have shell, just do this.

shell> mysqldump -u user -ppassword --opt -full database_name > backupfile.sql

That should create a file in the /home/username/ directory named backupfile.sql with your forum db in it. Should only take a min or two to backup the file using shell.

Awesome. Worst comes to worst, just contact IPB and let them upgrade it for you.

But lets still hope for the best.

lol why get IPB to do it? it so easy your just wasting 50$ or w/e it is when you could do it yourself it so easy

It costs nothing for them to upgrade and when your doing an upgrade as big as this its advisable. So where you get your $50 from unsure.

It doesn't cost for IPB to do it if you have a license. Also, upgrading such a big board could be a hastle for Faken and the other admins, so why not let IPB do it for them?

LoL Looks like everything went perfectly...now we just need a skin, lol.

Edit: They might have deleted the html/emoticons directory. Either try rebuilding your emoticons or upload them all to "forums/html/emoticons" as we as the new directory in the skins folder
