Hey guys. I currently redesigned my portfolio and I have it all coded and everything.
The thing that's bugging me is I am on the verge of creating a flash banner for it (that will be displayed on top) and it's not just going to loop but it's going to have a character have a small welcoming message. Now I don't want to use IFRAMES, instead I want to use the PHP dynamic linking (with the php?page=index consept) but if I do that I was wondering if every time a user visits another page through the navigation if the banner will replay. (That's what I don't want it to do)

With iframes it would just link the page to the put iframe but since iframes are dumb and don't support expandable table cells I need to use Includes.

If anybody has any solution to prevent the banner from replaying itself everytime a link inside the website is clicked and another webpage is opened (index page "refreshed"), I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks in advance!

create two banners.. one with the full animation for the homepage and a shorter version for the rest of the pages

See - that won't work.
(1) It's a waste of time and pretty ridiculous and (2) I'm going to use includes which means I'll only have one index file with that one banner.
