Title probably doesnt make sense but was thinking to myself why slice if a layer is designed in photoshop?
If i design my layout in Photoshop and uses layers for different elements, then why would i need to slice as they will already be on different layers which i can save and use.
Where is the downfall in this method?
Can someone prove me wrong please as i pretty sure it aint as straight forward as i seem to think it is.
Cheers

Basically you can go and save each layer as an image - But that saves the layer in the original document size i.e If you have a 700x500 document and try to save a layer it will save it in 700x500 even if you have a 10x10 image on it.
When you're slicing, it saves the image in the dimensions of the individual slices which is what you use when putting together a website.
