Hi there. I have a clothing company and i have a few photoshop questions for my designs. first, is it possible to drop a color (say white) and make it transparent? i.e. http://www.urbanoutfitters.com/images/us/l...ll/p195634c.jpg
the lighter parts on the shirt need to go back to the t-shirt when printed (transparent).
also, does anyone know how to separate colors in photoshop? like if i were to give you a full color picture, you could separate it into maybe 6 different colors and put them into different layers? the screen printers send the files off to be color separated and it cost more money to have them do that, so i need to know how to do it myself.
thanks.

To assign transparency to a single color: (very fast way)
Open the image (t-shirt)
Convert the image to an indexed-color image (click OK if he asks you something) by doing:
Choose Image > Mode > Indexed Color.
In the Indexed Color dialog box, choose Custom from the Palette menu. This opens the Color Table dialog box.
In the Color Table dialog box, select the Eyedropper tool , and click the desired color in the table or in the image. The sampled color is replaced with transparency in the image.
Let me add though that the outcome is almost everytime ugly, so,... i dont know what the purpose is, but i'm sure there are other and better ways (tedious selecting/masking) to do it!
Color seperation is not my thing, so have absolutely no idea how to make the seperation. Sry bout that.
