You could to select > colour range then it selects all of the same colour press ctrl + C to copy all then delete selected colour and paste so you have say a layer where it just contains all yellow.
I cant think of any other ways atm.

I always thought color seperation was a printer thingy, thus making the right selections in the prontersettings,...

I dont get it: cant he just
1. make 4 copies of his file
2. convert to CMYK space instead of RGB space and then delete all the channels he doesnt need, or doesnt it work that way.
Like i said, i know zip bout color seperations.

its going to a screen printer. each pass is a new color, so the colors need to be sepparated...not just into cmyk. i tried the color selector and cut and pasted into new layers. i will take it to the printer and see if it is ok. thanks guys.
