Ok, this is pretty random but it's just what i think. I'm assuming this is for a sig btw. I'd get a render of something like 2 guys, no idea who, battling or something, 1 on the left and 1 on the right with a clash in the middle or something, it's just the way your background is set out on the left and the right, would just make me want to do that. Anywho, sweet background :P

I think you should make it 320 * 110 pixels.
Give it a tad more contrast.
Maybe a few sparkles.
If you want to add a render then add it in and place it then duplicate the render tons of times until you cant see anymore background then merge all the duplicated layer together then give them a 70% motion blur in any direction then set the layer to overlay. That colours the bg nicely to blend with the render. If you think the colouring from the layer wasnt strong enough then simple duplicate the overlay layer again.
Then on a new layer give it a 3px black stroke and on the same layer a 2px white stroke and set the layer to soft light.
+ place the render in the middle where there is not much brushing. Slightly erase the bottom of the render to blend it in with the background.
