just wondering, im always seeing all of these windows icon packages,
but i dont know how to install them
do i need a certain program to do this, or can i do it just through windows itself?
btw, im not talking about just right clicking on the desktop icon and changing it that way

Nope no program required (to use them at least, you DO need a application to make them off course).
Just unzip the file and you'll see there mostly in .ico format.
To use them:
rightclick on folder or shortcut
Go to properties
Folder: go to custom / all the way at the bottom click other icon and then browse to the folder where you have the icons saved.
Application shortcut: at the bottom you can also choose other icon etc...
With a certain plug-in you can export .ico format straight out off Photoshop!

What you're talking bout is a full package.
You need MicroAngelo or IconWorkshop for that.
Just unzip the file and you'll see there mostly in .ico format.
