I have a theory, its kind of long, but I was bored so I thought it through and everything.

OKay, for me and most of my friends, and alot of people I ask online, when I ask what they think of a game for xbox or PC, they say best graphics awsome gameplay for whatever game. Now, when the second game of it comes out, and we ask eachother to play it, we all most of the time say, wow these graphics look exactly the same as the previous version....THEN you go play the previous version and the graphics suck and your like what the heck...and you can see some polygons on the older version and everything.
This only happens with xbox and PC games for me and my friends.
So I thought of this stupid idea.
Microsoft puts something on your PC to edit the registry of the older game to make the graphics worst, so the new game looks alot better. For xbox they send the registry edits throguh xbox live to make the previous version look worse, even though first impression you are like....they look the same (Especially for sports game) but when you goto play the previous version after playing the newest, you are like uh.....graphics suck even though just 1 day ago they were amazing to you.

So basically Microsoft edits the registries and most graphics are somewhat the same and stuff, Me and my friend played Call of Duty 2 for xbox360, and we were like, looks basically the same as the previous one just a few sharper colors and improvements. Then we played the previous one and we were like

Then to re-assure this fact, we also realized....very few games come out for MAC and if tehy do come out, the second game for it or whatever usually never comes out on MAC. Why? because Microsoft cant manipulate the registry on MAC's because they have no control over it, so they dont want people playing both versions and seeing that they are the same graphics even though they advertised it as better.

Example:
Project Gotham(XBOX) - when it came out we were like OMG best graphics in the world.
Project Gotham 2(XBOX) - Same graphics, then we played Project gotham 1 and it sucked graphics.
Project Gotham 3(XBOX360) - I played and was like looks the same as PG2, then I called my cousin and he told me to play PG2, and when I did I was like...ewww these suck (goes back and playes 360)...

so yea, theres my pointless and fake theory but backedup somewhat

Uh, tiny correction. XBox doesn't use a registry, so it'd be quite impossible for them to make the graphics worse.

It's just the fact that it is a newer game, and they have better code, models, and graphics than they did before.

That's what they do between releases - improve the game!! And you probably won't realise this unless you compare it with the older version.

Whenever you play the first version of something you will be like "Great game, amazing graphics...blah blah blah" because you got nothing to compare it with...
When the new version comes out, obviously everything will be better (unless someone somewhere screwed it up real bad) and if you compare it with the older version, the older version will look pretty ordinary compared to the newer version. You may think it looks like the older version because when you had played the older version(when it first came out) you thought the same thing but actually everything's been spruced up in the new version.

Yer its true that XBOX360 gfx are much better.
I played TH American Wasteland at Tont Hawk skate demo and opener for the game, the gfx were so much better than PS2 version & XBOX version.

I mean the old game is still good graphics but you think its sucks so you dont play it because you saw the newer version with improved graphics...and somehow you think that the graphics on the old just plain suck all of a sudden even though before seein the new game it was super awsome xx;

Yep, it's true, and Microsoft has a complicated device installed in the Xbox machine to make it into one giant network which they've been using in cooperation with Bob Barker to control the pet population. That's right, every time you use your Xbox you kill a kitten. How can you sleep at night?

Thats like saying, when they invented Black and White TV, they already had the Colour version, but they were holding onto it to not make B & W look shit later on? :wacko:

i think its more to do with the game being similar. IE the gameplay isnt as good as you've played something similar so you look at other factors eg graphics

you never know, you never know, military had computers before releasing to public, so how you know they didnt have color screens and stuff back then while leaving the public with black and white

i prefer halo's graphics, halo2 has a habit of loading the textures after the clips start playing, also halo is a much clearer game..!!

try half life - half life 2 for an increase in graphics... or doom - doom 3

The difference between CoD and CoD2 is huge. I have massive numbers of screenshots from CoD and several from CoD2 (my friend sent them to me) and they are totally different. I believe your theory is wrong, but Microsoft is a mysterious company, you never know!
