I personally like using Fireworks. It's a great program. I learned it before I learned Photoshop. So there are certain things I like to use Fireworks for. It's just an easier program for me to use. :)

Any program is worth learning if you buy it.

people people.. Why are you saying such bad things about fireworks?
I think you people should first take a serious look at the program before you rate it!
I've already seen stuff made in fireworks that is really mind-blasting.

I personally don't use it, because I'm used to work with photoshop or illustrator.

Like CanenArt said, every program is worth to learn!

Fireworks is worth learning. Everyone who I have talk to who uses it say that it is better for web graphics than Photoshop. Which is understandable. Photoshop wasn't created for the purpose of making images for websites, Fireworks was.

I hear it works very well with Flash and Dreamweaver. You should definitely take the time to learn it, especially since you bought it.

However, if you're like most of us you're probably used to Photoshop. It will most likely be awkward at first, but if you take the time to learn it and use it I'm sure it will be useful.

If you decide to learn it, good luck :)

actually photoshop was built to make websites, not primarily but it WAS another function, thats why there is a slice tool

Key phrase is "not primarily". Fireworks was made specifically to do web graphics. That's why Photoshop isn't called Webshop. It was made to do photo correction and retouching.

It really just depends on how you use it. No, it's not Photoshop, but it's not meant to be.

To be honest though, it is, hands down the best program to strip images for the web that I have found yet.

Also makes other things such as disjoint rollovers and what not very easy.
