Hello,

I'm looking for help with saving in *.AI file format, from adobe illustrator so I can create a 3D logo from a design I have made in photoshop 7/illustrator 7 (Yeah, I know there are newer versions of the programs, old habits die hard.)

But if any one could help me I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks in advance. :D

just goto File > Save as... and then at the bottom of the window select the *.ai files format. If you are having a problem with the file being corrupted or soemthing I can't help u there. An AI is to Illustrator as PSD is to Photoshop.

I think i know what he's asking; (save as... like the man says but...)
Had the same problem when importing these in Ray dream designer (carrara studio its called now).
Save it in Illustrator 5 or less format (Illustrator 3), instead of illustrator 7 and then the 3D program WILL prop be able to import it.
Same with the eps format, always save as... in the oldest format you can, there just outlines anyway, so no special fx will be lost.

At least i think thats what he's asking.... right?

Alright,

Well obviously I had one too many bong hits that day, and I should've checked to make sure I was running the correct program for the job. I had ImageReady open not Illustrator. That would be why I couldn't save in the *.AI format. (Yeah, I'm L.7. a Loser 7 days a week) *Takes a Bow* and for my next insanely retarded trick..... haha

I appreciate the help guys.
