I'm shooting a movie for media studies class, and we thought that it would be awesome to have character interviews on the DVD with some cool greenscreen effects using Adobe After Effects. We tried on a solid colored wall but the lighting is atrocious and we weren't able to pull a usable mask from it (but I'm not very good at the keying effects either :)).

However, I realized that we have access to an InFocus LCD projector, and that got me to thinking that we could possibly use that to project a solid color background (Green or blue) onto a screen behind the characters. Then we could loop our background movie through and key out the blue.

Would this potentially work? I don't want to shoot them all again to have them not working. I've included a diagram of what I'm talking about :(

yep, that could possibly work alright.. you will maybe have to key some other parts manually, but overall it works.

I'm most worried about the background behind the actor, the rest I think I can get rid of manually :D

I've played around today with a bluescreen on a projector, and I was able to key the whole blue mask out.. without any problem..

Thanks, my actors have a nice clean white background behind them :(
