HI,
I am exporting a model of hi polygon count (almost 28,346) . Now in the model I have 6 dragons where I have grouped in the following manner

1st group - All the dragons eyes
2nd group- All the dragons teeth
3rd group - all the dragons heads together. Thus in this way there are other groups as well.
I have then made all these group in 1 group and tried to export to 3ds format. It said its out of the scope of 3ds format to export so many polygons and 3ds would many objects if i want to export in that format. I have then tried wavefront(OBJ) . It exports successfully , but as it comes out in Bryce 5 , i ungroup the to catch hold of individual groups to colour them in bryce . But what i found is that the individual groups i have made in Max . thus all the objects become seperate and impossible to control in Bryce. Can someone help me by saying , what group to export from max 7 so that i can retain invidual groups in Bryce and handle them more easily. Please help me , need this urgently. :) :D

try to do the same, but bryce likes .obj files a lot more,
also the textures will have more chance to survive !

Cant you regroup: 1 dragon at the time ?
And make a texturemap for each dragon then export as .obj files !

SKYTHAR grouping each Dragon at a time is not possible as i have to colur the teeth and eyes in a seperate way at Bryce. Thus I have to see how to regroup all th teeth or all the eyes even they get back to individual objects after importing to bryce. Now i have heard from some one that Bryce has a capability of showing a list of all the objects in the scene ( just like Max) . You can then select the ones u need and then regroup them to rebuild your groups. Can u tell me how to do that ???? :D

at the bottom of your "design frame" there are a series of small icons.
Thats for selecting objects, groundplanes, skys etc. And i think (its been a little while i worked with bryce 5) there is indeed the possibility to select the names afterwards.
I'll check it out when im at home, cos here at school they dont have bryce.
Hope i can help.

I guess after the selection you are gonna use the "deep texture editor" within bryce to import the texture maps for the different parts ?
