Hello forum!

First post at what looks to be a great forum, hope you all enjoy me being here :).

Ok, so ive decided to move into 3D and had heard from a few people that Maya was the way to go for animation.
So off i poddled and downloaded the trial, followed most of the help things (it actualy helps! who would have thought of that B)) And i am now looking to make my first person animation.

I got a skeleton free with the program, mine was ok, but its best to be on the safe side with important things like these.

So any way, i have my skeleton and i start drawing some NURBS around it, thinking that i can press the little button that joins them all together and sort of makes stuff in between the gaps, giving the whole thing a nice smooth bit.

So yea, ive got this person resembling load of nurbs with bits sticking out, small holes and general flaws.

Basicly, after a fair amount of hunting i can't find this magical button tht smooths them all and such.

Havnt a clue what its actualy called, although ive been told in other programs its called "Welding"?

Thanks for any help,
Head_Shot

First make sure your in the modelling menu set,

next select 2 nurbs surfaces

then goto Edit Nurbs > Attach Surfaces > option box

in the options box you can choose whether you want the surfaces to blend or have a hard edge,

sometimes however, it will try to attach the wrong vertex together,

to fix this, when selecting the 2 surfaces, hold down the RMB, and go into isoparm mode,

then select the edges you wish to join,

hope ive helped :)
