OK, I created this when iwas experimenting with photoshop yesterday...
Final Product:
Posted Image
OK first off all create a new document 300*300
Set the background to: #D4D0C8 and fill it in
You should now have this:
Posted Image
Then using the Elliptical Marquee tool create a big circle about 2/3 of the image
and then fill it with this: #FF0000
And fill in your circle so that you have something similar to this:
Posted Image
Ok now create a cicle again about 2/3 the size of your circle
like this:
Posted Image
Ok and now se your foreground to white
Then select the gradient tool and set it to Foreground to Transparent
Posted Image
And fill it in from the top to the bottom, like this
Posted Image
Now , i kknow youve seen this done before butim not done yet
Go to Layer>Layer Style>Blending Options and then Deselect the "B" in the Channels like this:
Posted Image
Ok now you should have something like this
Posted Image
Almost done :P
now using the elliptical marquee tool again create a selection about 2/3 of the orange circle we jsut made, like this:
Posted Image
Now fill this in again with white using the same technique as above this time dont do anything to the blending options.
So you have this
Posted Image
Ok, now you can leave it like this but
You can add two two lens flares which make look like its reflectin the light
so select you red circle(second one) layer and add two lens flares like this
Posted Image
and
Posted Image
And thats it you should have something like this :
Posted Image
Thanks and hope you enjoyed, please comment... :)

That is a nice orb!

One question? I have not seen one of these tutorials where the orb is vector? Why not?
