Hey all, my very first post here.

Made a video tutorial explaining the basics of modeling a dvd player in Cinema 4D.
The tutorial consist out of 3 part around 20-25 Mb each. Coded with the TCSS Codec.
It would be great if it could be online here, but i don't know how to submit a 3 parts video tutorial on this site for overview.
Could anyone help me with this if interested.

Cheers,
Bry

Not so much as 3 parts but the fact they are 75 megs?!? I mean, do you really need that much space on making a dvd player? I'm thinking maybe 4-5 minutes of video to do one start to finish, maybe 8-10 megs total....

Well, the video's last about 14 to 18 minutes, coded with the TSCC codec.
Already compressed them to the smallest size with good quality...
I could try coding them with a different codec to see if i could get them smaller..

This is the final result of the tutorial..

And with some textures and lighting i made this out of it, although that part isnt in the tutorial..

Couldnt you just write it out in html format/bbcode format. Would be alot less downlaod.

It looks good but it doesnt look like it would take that long to model to use up that much space. Check out the other threads in the c4d tutorials we posted a link to a program called camtasia. Best there is, and you can compile it into an easy to use flash format video and is fairly small. Also requires no codecs to install

Just plain text costs me to much time to make, sorry..!!

The video's are made with camtasia, so i guess this is the filesize.
the total modeling comes at 50 minutes, so its 50 minutes of video with a total filesize of around 65 MB. That's a little more then One MB pr minute, that's not that bad..

Tryed compressing the file some more, but this is the best i could do..

:D Hehehe, no it doesnt..

The tutorial is without audio btw. so i do the whole process from reference setup too end result, could have modeled it all faster, but it has to be a bit slow so people could follow it.

the first part sets up the reference. models the basic shape and makes insets for buttons
The second part, shapes the display and screen and makes the cd holder thingy
the third part, Models the buttons, backside and adds the final touches..

I put them online here if you wanna check it out.

Part 1
Part 2
Part 3

Cheers :)
